Our Family

This past year as I started to research more of our family history, I found some interesting things.
1. What we think we know and what is so, isn't always right.
2. If you don't have all the important information, it may be too late to find it.
3. Interview and pick the brains of those older family members still alive.Find out dates of important
events in their lives, their experiences, where they lived, went to school, and how they met their
   spouse.
4. Organize those family photos and label names and dates on the back in pencil.

I can't ask Mother, Daddy, or my grandparents about details that I don't know or remember.I found out that I didn't know Mama Barron's mothers' maiden name. How could I not know? I guess I assumed that Mother had this information written down somewhere. There aren't a lot of pictures of Mother and her parents, they didn't own a camera. Important census information is missing for them because of the tornado that destroyed the courthouse before it could be sent to Washington. If there had been more record keeping by the family we would have a better picture of their lives.

I'll end this first blog with a couple of things I found out.Bur and Granddaddy ran away to SC to get married, they had known each other less than two weeks.Mama Barron had a step-mother.

I will be sharing memories about our family that were told to me by my grandparents, parents, and that I experienced growing up.Johnny, Wayne and Sharon might remember some things differently, that's all right. We all experience the same thing differently sometimes. Please share your thoughts and memories as we explore the lives of family. We are like chocolate, mostly sweet with a few nuts.
